ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT
THE GOAL IS SIMPLE:
• BETTER MOVERS TODAY
• BETTER PERFORMERS TOMORROW
• BETTER ATHLETES FOR LIFE
MECHANICS • STRENGTH • SPEED • CONFIDENCE
Athletic Development Details
- 21BOOM athletic development is a comprehensive training system built to elevate how athletes move, perform, and compete.
- Every session develops the core pillars of performance: mobility, stability, strength, speed, power, agility, and confidence.
- Training is tailored by age, ability, and sport demands to ensure athletes learn proper mechanics, build durable strength, and progress safely.
START WITH AN ATHLETE ONBOARDING SESSION
Every athlete begins with a one-on-one consultation with our Athletic Development Coordinator.
During this session, we review:
- Health and injury history
- Goals and training background
- Current activity demands
- A structured movement & strength assessment
This gives us a clear picture of where the athlete should begin — whether that’s personal training for more individualized attention or small-group training for progressive, coach-guided development.
OUR TRAINING SESSIONS
We offer two primary types of small-group sessions, each serving a distinct purpose in long-term athletic development.
1. FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH
These sessions emphasize joint mobility, controlled stability, and the fundamental movement patterns every athlete must master.
We focus on:
- Foundational strength
- Movement quality
- Core stability
- Age-appropriate load progression
Personalization matters. Athletes of all ages and abilities are challenged appropriately based on their strength, skill level, and movement proficiency.
2. ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT & REACTIVE STRENGTH
Speed doesn’t start with sprinting — it starts with movement proficiency and the ability to absorb and redirect force.
That’s where Reactive Strength Training comes in.
WHAT IS REACTIVE STRENGTH?
Reactive strength is your body’s ability to take in force and instantly produce it again — like a spring.
This rapid stretch-shortening cycle is what allows athletes to:
- Sprint faster
- Jump higher
- Change direction efficiently
- Stay agile under pressure
It’s just as valuable for adults who want to stay coordinated, responsive, and injury-resistant in everyday life.
BENEFITS OF REACTIVE STRENGTH TRAINING
- Explosiveness: Build real-world power for sport and daily movement.
- Joint Protection: Strengthen tendons and ligaments to lower injury risk.
- Agility & Balance: Improve reaction time, coordination, and quick-change movement.
- Performance Transfer: Carry gains directly into basketball, soccer, tennis, and more.
- Longevity: Keep your nervous system sharp and your body moving with resilient, youthful energy.
HOW WE TRAIN IT
We use proven, progressive methods such as:
- Movement flows
- Bounding and box-jump variations
- Quick hops and lateral jumps
- Medicine ball catch-and-release throws
- Plyometric push-ups
- Contrast training blocks
Everything is coached with safety, mechanics, and appropriate challenge in mind.
WHY IT MATTERS
Reactive strength isn’t just for advanced athletes.
It’s for anyone who wants to:
- Move better
- Feel stronger
- Stay resilient
- Perform with confidence
Training your body to react, stabilize, and explode efficiently pays off in every step, jump, sprint, and lift.
